TDM New CEO

TDM Aerospace Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

Casablanca, 1 September 2023 – Today, TDM Aerospace SA has named Adel Bidaoui to serve as its new Chief Executive officer. Mr. Bidaoui’s appointment fulfills the promise of TDM’s shareholders to hand over the company to a Moroccan leader once established, fully qualified, and operating in production mode.

Adel BIDAOUI joins TDM following a distinguished 22-year career at Group Le Piston Français (GLPF). During his tenure there, he progressed through the ranks to eventually reach the position of General Manager of both the Moroccan and French subsidiaries, andeven Project Director at the Group level. He was appointed member of the executive board of GLPF.

More recently, he established from ground up a cutting-edge production unit in Midparc Casablanca, that is the first of its kind in Morocco to manufacture circular parts for aircraft engines. In this capacity, he served as the Managing Director of the unit, overseeing its 100 employees, and successfully expanded GLPF’s client portfolio to encompass prominent AngloSaxon clients.

With his background in operations and optimization, he is uniquely qualified to lead TDM in its next stage characterized by high-rate production, continuous improvement, and innovation. Mr. Bidaoui reports directly to the chairman of TDM’s board of directors.

TDM’S co-founders, Lou Winoski and Juergen Viehrig, have joined MAIC Gestion, the investment management arm of the Moroccan Aerospace Investment Company (MAIC), as Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Technology Officer, respectively. As such, they will remain active within TDM and will replicate the successful TDM formula for new aerospace investments in Morocco.

According to the co-founders, “Adel’s appointment marks a milestone in the maturation of TDM Aerospace. With our investor-partners and a team now numbering over 90, we have proven that ‘Made in Morocco’ with Moroccan-ownership and leadership is a winning formula for our aerospace customers.”

Majid Benmlih, chairman of TDM and MAIC Gestion added, “We congratulate Lou and Juergen on their achievement and welcome them to our team. Their addition allows us to rapidly build on the success of the TDM model, bringing supply chains to Morocco and filling critical aerospace capability gaps with sustaining value to our customers.”

About the Moroccan Aerospace Investment Company (MAIC)

MAIC is Morocco’s first-ever Aerospace Investment Fund. Established in 2017 to fulfill the promise of Morocco’s MOU with the Boeing Company, MAIC’s first investment was in TDM Aerospace. Its incorporation as a “company,” not a “fund” suggests our long-term view to acquire financial interests in manufacturing and services entities, promoting Moroccan equity participation in the Kingdom’s growing aerospace industry, to fill capabilities gaps while yielding long-term, sustainable value and exceptional returns.
